Resume Carve (Easel Pro) lets you restart a carve partway through, for example, after a stopped or interrupted carve, without starting again from the beginning.
Starting a resumed carve
Click the arrow on the Carve… button (1) and choose Resume carve… (2).
The walkthrough is the same as a normal carve, with one extra step before the carve starts: Select Starting Point.
Choosing the starting point
1. Select Starting Point
This step appears after Work zero when you resume a carve.
2. Slider
Drag the slider to get close to where you want to start. The arrow buttons on each side move it quickly forward or back.
3. Step buttons
Click < Step or Step > to move one point back or forward and fine-tune the position.
4. Toolpath points
Each line is one point in the carve, with its X, Y and Z position. The highlighted line is where the carve will start. The Z value is the starting depth: a negative number is below the surface of the material, and a positive number is above it.
5. Time
Shows the estimated carve time from the point you've chosen.
6. Preview
Shows the toolpaths, so you can see where in the design the carve will start.
When you're happy with the starting point, click Continue.
| Important: Starting in the middle of a carve needs extra care. Make sure the start point is safe, and that the bit won't crash into material that's already been carved. Check that work zero hasn't changed since the original carve. |
