Step by Step Walkthrough
To resume a carve that got interrupted, first select the "Resume Carve" option from the new dropdown option on the "Carve" button:
This will launch a carve walkthrough much like the one you're used to, except that there will be a new step to select the starting point for the carve right before you kick it off:
On this step you have a few different controls to make it possible to zero in on the exact point where you want to begin the carve:
- Slider control. Use the slider to quickly get close to your intended starting position
- Step buttons. Use the step buttons to move one point at a time either forward or backward.
- Point window. Use the point window to either select or verify the starting position. The Z value, in particular, can be helpful to confirm the depth at which the carve will begin. A negative Z value is below the material surface. A positive Z value is above the material surface.
Warning: When starting a carve in the middle, it is important to exercise extra caution to make sure you are choosing a safe starting point.
