Quick repeat carving lets you skip zeroing and material setup when you carve the same project several times in a row, in the same position and with the same bit. It's a big time saver when you're making multiples.
Turning on repeat carving
- Open the Machine menu (1) and choose General Settings (2).
- Check Enable Repeat Carving (3).
Repeating a carve
Do your first carve as normal, using the full carve walkthrough to set up your material and work zero. When it finishes, turn off the spindle, clamp your next piece of material in exactly the same position, and click Carve again. The Almost ready to cut! window opens.
1. Probe Z
Re-probe the Z axis before carving, for example if your new material is a slightly different thickness.
2. Repeat Carve
Skip zeroing and go straight to the final checks before carving, using the same work zero as your last carve.
3. Back to regular carve
Go through the full carve walkthrough instead.
4. Disable Repeat Carve after carving
Check this to turn off repeat carving. You can turn it back on in General Settings.
Before the carve starts, Easel asks you to raise the bit, confirm your dust shoe and turn on the spindle, just like a regular carve. Then click Carve!
| Important: Repeat carving uses the same work zero as your last carve. Make sure each new piece of material is in exactly the same position and you’re using the same bit. If anything has changed, click Back to regular carve instead. |
| Helpful Tip: Use repeat carving together with Parking (Easel Pro) to move the spindle out of the way between carves, so swapping material is quicker. |
