Homing switches tell your CNC where the limits of your machine are. If they aren't working correctly, you may see errors during homing, misaligned carves, or even crashes. A quick check ensures your machine is ready to run safely and accurately.

We recommend starting with this video, where we can walk you through this process step by step:
Check your switches in Easel
- Open Easel and go to Machine > Machine Inspector.
- In the Machine Inspector window, look for the Homing Switches section.
- You'll see circles for X, Y, and Z.
- Manually press each homing switch on your machine.
- When the arm of the switch is pressed, the circle for that axis should turn green.
- If it does not light up, there may be an issue with the switch or wiring.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Make sure the wiring to each switch is fully seated and secure.
- Check that the switch is physically able to be pressed — dust, debris, or misalignment can prevent proper activation.
- If a switch still does not respond, it may need replacement.
