Easel Generate uses tokens to meter design generation. Every design you generate has a real processing cost behind it, and tokens are how that cost is reflected in your subscription.
What each action costs
| Action | Tokens |
| Generate a 2D design | 1 |
| Iterate on a 2D design | 1 |
| Generate a 3D design | 2 |
| Iterate on a 3D design | 1 |
3D generation costs 2 tokens because it's two steps: creating the design, then generating the height map that makes it carvable. Both are included in the 2-token cost — there's no separate charge for the height map.
Easel always shows the token cost on the button before you generate, so you know what an action will use before you take it.
Example: You generate a 3D design (2 tokens), iterate twice to refine it (2 tokens), then import it into your project (free). Total: 4 tokens.
Your token balance
Your current balance is on your Account page under Easel Generate, along with your reset date. Easel also shows your remaining tokens inside the generator as you work, and warns you when you're running low.
Resets and rollover
Your tokens refresh on your Easel Generate billing date each month — not on the first of the calendar month.
Unused tokens don't roll over. If you finish the month with tokens left, they don't carry into the next period. Each month starts fresh at your plan's full allotment.
Tokens are a monthly allowance for using Easel Generate, not a stored balance or account credit. They aren't transferable and aren't redeemable for cash. Easel Generate subscriptions are non-refundable — but if you have a question or concern about your token usage, contact our support team, and we'll take a look.
Running out of tokens
When your balance reaches zero, Easel Generate pauses until your tokens reset. Everything you've already generated and imported stays in your projects — running out only stops new generations.
When this happens, you have two options:
- Wait for your reset date, shown on your Account page.
-
Upgrade your token plan for more tokens per month. If you're on Generate 30 or Generate 60, Easel will show you the upgrade option when you run low.
Changing your token plan
You can change your Easel Generate plan at any time from your Account page.
When you upgrade your plan mid-cycle:
- Your new plan starts immediately and is charged at its full monthly price.
- Your billing date resets to the day you upgrade — that becomes your new monthly renewal date.
- Any unspent tokens from your previous plan carry over and are added to your new plan's tokens.
For example, if you're on Generate 30 with 12 tokens left and you upgrade to Generate 60, you'll have 72 tokens for the new cycle.
When you decrease or downgrade your Easel Generate plan:
Your current plan stays active through the end of your billing period, and you keep your current tokens until then. The lower plan takes effect on your next renewal date.
Billing
- Easel Generate is billed monthly, on its own date, separate from your Easel plan.
- Easel Generate is billed through Stripe. You can update your payment method from your Account page.
- Cancelling Easel Generate doesn't cancel your Easel Starter or Pro subscription, and vice versa. They're independent.
