Easel can accept files in an SVG, STL DXF and gcode format.
For detailed instructions, see this guide: File Import Guide
SVG
If you are using an outside vector program, such as Illustrator or Inkscape, please ensure that your project only contains vectors. Any pixel information in your image will be rejected by Easel when you attempt to import it. All text should be converted to a vector path as well.
Still having trouble? Take a look at our SVG Import Guide.
DXF
Easel can accept DXF files smaller than 5 MB. To ensure proper scaling, please make sure that your document is saved in the same measurement that your Easel project is. For example, if you work with Easel in inches mode, please make sure that the project in your CAD software is saved in inches as well.
It is also important to ensure that all of your polylines are closed. Otherwise, the toolpath that Easel will create may isolate lines as individual objects. This can cause a longer than usual carve time.
STL
Easel supports 3D STL imports that are under 100MB in size. This feature works best with relief-type carvings. Check out our 3D Easel FAQ and 3D Carving Instructions for more info.
Gcode
We have post processors available for Fusion360 and VCarve.
If you are not using either one of those programs, please take a look at our gcode spec to ensure your file can be accepted by Easel.
